Strong sheet steel
Cold twisted
Naturally oxidised

Two flat strips of steel, each one twisted a half turn along its axis, are placed close together with their bases at 90 degrees.  One sees from their shape – in relation to their height, width and weight – that they are only of modest strength.  This is only possible in steel.  Firmly fixed they sway in the wind.  The evenness of their twisting, produced with great force upon the cold metal, is likewise due to the nature of steel.

The silhouette of the twisted forms varies in a gentle curve from broad to narrow and back to broad again.  The 90 degree displacement between them causes the maximum width of the one to occur when the other is at its minimum, and vice versa. And thus they change, the one the perfect counterpart to the other.

Twisting, a metaphor for the balance of opposites, enhancing one another, joyful at the harmony and equilibrium of things.
